Fishing Report

The cooler winter weather is stirring up a lot of action in the Gulf. You don't have to go far for big fish. Grouper to 30" are being caught consistently in near shore waters, along with lots of Mackerel, Snapper, Grunts, and Flounder.

Kings are active at 10-15 miles. Grouper are also gathered at structures in mid range  water. Also lots of grunts, snapper, and flounder will keep you busy while waiting for that big one. A great time for a mixed bag bottom fishing. I also fish live bait on spinning outfits to pick up drag screaming Kings while bottom fishing in mid range waters.

In deeper water the big Amberjack are hungry, and eager to take a bait. For great table fare, the
Yellowrtail Snapper bite is picking up on the wrecks. The Bayronto wreck, otherwise known as Amberjack City is producing a consistent bite of 30 pound AJ's. Mix in grouper, yellowtail snapper, permit, cuda, shark, and occasional tuna or mahi, and you will have the day of your life.
